Why the image is reversed

I suppose I should justify my comment that this image is reversed. The Chrysler building is north and east of the Empire State building. If we are looking north, then we are also looking west in the photo and that would be the Hudson, not the East River as it really is. Anyway, if you flip it, you'll instantly see that it was indeed reversed.
