Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge. Višegrad, Bosnia and Herzegovina. 2011 July 20. Višegrad Bridge is a historic bridge in Višegrad, over the Drina River in eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina. The great court architect and engineer Koca Mimar Sinan, who was the head of the team of architects of the Empire, was called on to design and construct the bridge. It numbers 11 masonry arches, with spans of 11 to 15 metres, and an access ramp at right angles with four arches on the left bank of the river.
